About the Company

A multi-brand home decor and wall art company that has been designing and manufacturing wall art since 2003, operating a premium brand and a mass-market brand across direct-to-consumer e-commerce, third-party marketplaces, national retail partnerships, and B2B wholesale. The company is founder-led, in a growth phase, and serves both luxury and value-driven retailers, including major off-price and mass-market chains.

Role Summary

You will build dashboards, analyze sales and margin data across multiple channels, and translate numbers into strategic narratives that drive real decisions, working directly with senior leadership including the CEO and SVP of Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards (Google Data Studio or Looker) tracking revenue, margin, and KPIs across channels
  • Design automated reporting workflows (Sheets, BigQuery, Looker) that update with minimal manual work
  • Produce monthly BI reports that synthesize performance data into executive-ready narratives
  • Identify trends and anomalies and translate them into clear recommendations for leadership
  • Write and optimize SQL queries in BigQuery to extract and model data from multiple sources
  • Validate data accuracy and consistency across reports, flagging discrepancies
  • Partner with sales, merchandising, operations, and finance teams on their reporting needs
  • Present findings in management meetings and support strategic discussions with evidence

Required Skills

  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a similar analytical role
  • Proficient in SQL (BigQuery preferred) and experienced with at least one modern BI tool (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • Comfortable in Google Sheets for ad hoc analysis, automated reports, and data modeling
  • Strong data visualization skills, able to design a dashboard a CEO can glance at and understand
  • Able to write a clear, concise narrative around data, not just present numbers
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a remote, async-first environment across time zones
  • Experience with or strong interest in e-commerce, retail, consumer products, or manufacturing businesses

Nice to Have

  • Spanish fluency (strong plus, not required)
  • Experience with Python for data manipulation, automation, or scripting
  • Background in gross margin analysis, contribution margin, P&L structures, or financial reporting
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Amazon Seller Central) or ERP systems
  • Degree in data science, business analytics, economics, or a related field; MBA with an analytics focus is a plus
  • Experience in a founder-led or small-to-mid-size company, wearing multiple hats

Details

  • Type: Full-time, independent contractor
  • Working hours: 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday
