About the Company
Our client is a growing finance and accounting services firm that supports startups and small businesses with bookkeeping, accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll support, and strategic finance services. The company works closely with business owners and leadership teams to provide accurate financial information, organized accounting processes, and reliable reporting.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support the month-end close process across multiple client files
- Review working papers, reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation prepared by bookkeepers
- Ensure client books are accurate, complete, organized, and ready for director-level review
- Provide hands-on accounting and bookkeeping support when needed
- Help coordinate, guide, and support a team of bookkeepers
- Support financial reporting and basic financial analysis for client accounts
- Maintain clean accounting records in QuickBooks and/or Xero
- Identify errors, inconsistencies, process gaps, or missing documentation before final review
- Communicate clearly with internal team members and clients when required
- Work with accounting leadership to improve processes and support team scalability
Requirements
- 3–6 years of accounting experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and/or Xero
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience managing month-end close processes
- Financial reporting knowledge
- Bookkeeping & accounting operations experience
- Working paper review capability
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and clear communication
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
Nice to Have
- Payroll processing experience
- Google Workspace familiarity
- Small business or startup accounting background
- Background in financial reporting support within a team environment
- Experience reviewing the work of bookkeepers or junior accounting team members
- Exposure to client-facing accounting services or outsourced finance teams
