About the Company

A financial consulting and venture capital firm based in Canada that specializes in fractional CFO services, bookkeeping, AR/AP, payroll, and venture consulting for startups and small businesses. They partner with founder-led businesses to build and manage their full accounting and finance operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries
  • Perform full-cycle bookkeeping including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts on a regular basis
  • Prepare and process invoices and payments
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards
  • Support payroll processing and tracking
  • Assist with audit preparation and documentation
  • Communicate regularly with internal team members regarding financial matters


Requirements

  • 2+ years of work experience in an accounting environment
  • 2+ years of experience with QuickBooks Online (required)
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles
  • High attention to detail and strong time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt, research, and learn quickly
  • Must be fully digitally savvy - this is a remote, virtual-first company


Nice to Have

  • Experience with Xero, Wave, ADP, or Knit People
  • Understanding of startup culture
