About the Company
A financial consulting and venture capital firm based in Canada that specializes in fractional CFO services, bookkeeping, AR/AP, payroll, and venture consulting for startups and small businesses. They partner with founder-led businesses to build and manage their full accounting and finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts on a regular basis
- Prepare and process invoices and payments
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare financial reports
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards
- Support payroll processing and tracking
- Assist with audit preparation and documentation
- Communicate regularly with internal team members regarding financial matters
Requirements
- 2+ years of work experience in an accounting environment
- 2+ years of experience with QuickBooks Online (required)
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles
- High attention to detail and strong time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt, research, and learn quickly
- Must be fully digitally savvy - this is a remote, virtual-first company
Nice to Have
- Experience with Xero, Wave, ADP, or Knit People
- Understanding of startup culture
